Rajinikanth Hospitalied for Elective Procedure

Chennai: Megastar Rajinikanth was hospitalized earlier this week, leaving fans concerned about his health. The 76-year-old actor was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on Greams Road, Chennai, on Monday, September 30, after he complained of discomfort. Doctors identified swelling in his aorta, a major blood vessel connected to the heart, which required immediate attention.

Rajinikanth underwent an elective procedure where a stent was placed in his aorta using a non-surgical, transcatheter method. The hospital’s medical bulletin confirmed that the procedure was a success, and the actor is now stable and recovering well. The statement added, “Mr Rajinikanth is doing well and should be home in two days.”

Fans of the superstar were naturally worried after hearing about his hospitalization, but the hospital has reassured everyone that the actor’s recovery is on track. Rajinikanth has a history of health issues, including a kidney transplant in 2016, which led to him withdrawing from politics due to concerns over his “frail health.”

Despite these challenges, the actor has remained active in his film career. Before being admitted to the hospital, Rajinikanth had been busy promoting his upcoming film Vettaiyan, directed by Gnanavel Raja, which is slated for release on October 10. The movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a key role, making it one of the most anticipated releases of the year. In addition, Rajinikanth is currently shooting for Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which has created a lot of buzz among fans.

Rajinikanth’s ability to continue working despite his health challenges is a testament to his enduring dedication to his craft. With his stable recovery, fans can look forward to seeing their beloved “Thalaivar” back on the screen soon.
